nicholas cheeseman was born in kent in 1979 and was raised in kent until leaving school. he attended foundation studies at shelley park, bournemouth, and studied fine art at staffordshire university before graduating in 2001with first class honours.

nicholas became inspired to teach in 2000 whilst working as a painting instructor at bucks rock creative and performing arts camp, connecticut. this experience resulted three further summers in america teaching and his passion for teaching was confirmed when working at kinross wolaroi school in australia working as a resident artist. teaching art afforded him the chance to continue developing his own practice, travel and expand his experiences.

after training as an art teacher in bath, 2004, he spent three years teaching and working at a sixth form college in basingstoke. during this time he continued to expand his portfolio and in 2007 he moved to a part time teaching position in london.

he now works and lives in east london.
